Group of therapists posing with dogs at Unleashed Counseling.

We could tell you about our credentials. We'd rather tell you about our people.

Our team is one of the things that makes Unleashed Counseling special. We care about getting to know you, remembering the things that matter to you, and being there when life gets hard.

Finding the right therapist matters. Therapy works best when you feel comfortable, understood, and connected with the person sitting across from you. Our therapists bring their own experience, training, and personality to their work, so you can find someone who feels like the right fit.

And yes, we have the credentials and training to back up the work we do, too.

Meet the Unleashed Counseling Team

Shannon Colgan, LPC (she/her)

Shannon Colgan, LPC (she/her)

If your child would rather talk about their favorite video game, book, or Disney movie than sit and “process feelings,” Shannon gets it. She primarily works with children, adolescents, and young adults who are navigating anxiety, ADHD, depression, low self-esteem, and life transitions.

Shannon also works with parents and caregivers to support the whole family, while protecting the trust and safety of each young person’s therapy space.

Shannon Colgan is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with a Master of Science in School Counseling and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Kutztown University. She is certified in Nature-Informed Therapy and Geek Therapy and has Level 1 training in Animal-Assisted Play Therapy, with Level 2 training underway.

Shannon takes a client-centered and flexible approach, meeting each person where they are. She uses play-based, nature-based, and geek therapy — including comics, pop culture, tabletop and video games, and books — to connect with clients through the things they already enjoy.

Her work is goal-focused and draws from solution-focused and narrative approaches. She helps clients build practical skills, find their voice, and feel more confident in their own story.

Shannon’s therapy dog, Penny, may occasionally join sessions.

Heather Engle, LPC (she/her)

Shannon Colgan, LPC (she/her)

Heather holds a Master of Science in Clinical Counseling from Alvernia University and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from La Salle University. She joined Unleashed as a clinical intern and never left.

Since becoming licensed and starting to see clients in 2022, Heather has built her practice around genuine connection. Before becoming a therapist, she spent nearly a decade as a program leader at the Spring Valley YMCA, where she learned the importance of showing up consistently for people.

Heather works with adolescents and adults who are navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, and life transitions. She creates a space where clients can feel comfortable, supported, and understood as they work through what’s going on.

El Hyder Kim, LCSW (they/them)

Olivia Kripak, MS, CNIT (she/her)

If you’re nervous about starting therapy, El understands. They primarily work with tweens, teens, and young adults who are dealing with intense emotions, self-harm, suicidal thoughts, disordered eating, relationship stress, and low self-esteem.

Many of the people El works with are either starting therapy for the first time or returning after a difficult experience and aren’t sure what to expect. El doesn’t assume they know what a client needs. Clients are the experts on their own lives, and El’s goal is to help them build skills, reduce suffering, and create a life that feels more stable and worth living.

El is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), certified in DBT and Geek Therapy, and a graduate of Bryn Mawr College with a Master of Social Service and Social Research.

El works with clients who feel stuck in patterns that are overwhelming, painful, or difficult to change. You don’t have to filter yourself in therapy, and you don’t have to go through it alone.

El takes an LGBTQ+ affirming approach and uses DBT skills, including phone coaching between sessions. They also offer Geek Therapy, using clients’ interests and fandoms to make therapy feel more engaging and accessible.

El offers walk-and-talk sessions, both in person and virtually, and incorporates rabbit-assisted therapy with their rabbits, Donut and Mochi, to support grounding, comfort, and connection.

El is accepting new clients in NJ and PA.

Olivia holds a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Prescott College and is a Certified Nature-Informed Therapist through the Center for Nature Informed Therapy. She is also Level 1 trained in Animal Assisted Play Therapy.

Olivia believes the outdoors can be a powerful therapy tool, and she has built her practice around that belief. She works with teens and adults who are navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, and challenges with emotion regulation.

Her therapy dog, Sam, may join sessions, bringing the kind of calm and comfort that only a good dog can offer.

Kaitlyn Weber, LSW (she/her)

Kait holds a Master of Social Work from Widener University and is currently working toward full licensure as a clinical social worker. She is also Level 1 trained in Animal Assisted Play Therapy.

Kait takes a strengths-based approach to therapy and uses Motivational Interviewing, Narrative Therapy, Walk and Talk, and LGBTQ+ affirming care. She works with adolescents, adults, and groups navigating trauma, depression, anxiety, and addiction.

Kait sees therapy as a team effort: you bring the goals, she brings the tools, and her therapy dog, Adora, brings the kind of unconditional support that can make the whole process feel a little more possible.
