We could tell you about our credentials. We'd rather tell you about our people.

Our team is the thing clients talk about most. Not the trail. Not the dogs. The humans. The ones who remember what you said three sessions ago. Who email you after a hard week because they remember that major milestone. Who have done their own inner-work and bring that authenticity into the room. Choosing the right therapist matters. For it to work, we have to "click".  (Okay, we'll also tell you about our credentials.)

Meet the Unleashed Counseling Team

Heather Engle, LPC (she/her)

Olivia Kripak, MS, CNIT (she/her)

El Hyder Kim, LCSW (they/them)

Heather holds a Master of Science in Clinical Counseling from Alvernia University and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from La Salle University. She joined Unleashed as a clinical intern and never left. Since earning her license and beginning to see clients in 2022, she has built a practice grounded in creating genuine connection. Before becoming a therapist, Heather spent nearly a decade as a program leader at the Spring Valley YMCA, where she learned what it means to show up consistently for people. She works with adolescents and adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, and life transitions.

El Hyder Kim, LCSW (they/them)

If clients are nervous about starting therapy, El understands. They primarily work with tweens, teens, and young adults who are struggling with intense emotions, self-harm, suicidal thoughts, disordered eating, relationship stress, and low self-esteem. Many of the people they work with are either returning after a difficult therapy experience or beginning therapy for the first time and unsure of what to expect. El does not assume they know what a client needs. Clients are the experts on their own lives, and El’s goal is to help them build skills, reduce suffering, and create a life that feels more stable and worth living.

El is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), certified in DBT and Geek Therapy, and a graduate of Bryn Mawr College with a Master of Social Service and Social Research. They specialize in helping clients who feel stuck in patterns that are overwhelming, painful, or hard to change. Clients do not have to filter themselves in this work, and they do not have to go through it alone. El takes an LGBTQ+ affirming approach. They integrate DBT skills, including phone coaching between sessions. They offer Geek Therapy, exploring clients’ personal interests and fandoms to make therapy more engaging and accessible. They also offer walk-and-talk sessions, both in-person and virtually, and incorporate rabbit-assisted therapy with their rabbit Donut and their mate-in-training Mochi for grounding, comfort, and connection.

El is accepting new clients in NJ and PA.

Olivia Kripak, MS, CNIT (she/her)

Olivia Kripak, MS, CNIT (she/her)

Olivia holds a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with an emphasis in addictions from Prescott College and is a Certified Nature-Informed Therapist through the Center for Nature Informed Therapy. She is also Level 1 trained in Animal Assisted Play Therapy. Olivia believes the outdoors is one of the most underused therapeutic tools available, and she has built her practice around that conviction. She works with adults navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, and emotion regulation. Her therapy dog Sam joins sessions, bringing that particular kind of calm that only a good dog can offer.

Shannon Colgan, LPC (she/her)

Shannon Colgan, LPC (she/her)

Olivia Kripak, MS, CNIT (she/her)

If your child would rather talk about their favorite video game, book, or Disney movie than sit and "process feelings," Shannon gets it. Shannon primarily works with children, adolescents, and young adults navigating anxiety, ADHD, depression, low self-esteem, and life transitions. She also partners with parents and caregivers to support the whole family - while fiercely protecting the trust and safety of the young person's therapeutic space.

Shannon Colgan is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with a Master of Science in School Counseling and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Kutztown University. She is certified in Nature-Informed Therapy and Geek Therapy, and is Level 1 trained in Animal-Assisted Play Therapy (currently advancing to Level 2). Her approach is client-centered and adaptable - she meets every client where they are, using play-based therapy, nature-based therapy, and geek therapy (comics, pop culture, tabletop and video games, and all the books) to connect through what they actually care about. Her work is goal-oriented and grounded in solution-focused and narrative approaches, helping clients build real skills, find their voice, and write their own story. Shannon's therapy dog Penny will occasionally joins sessions.

Kaitlyn Weber, LSW (she/her)

Shannon Colgan, LPC (she/her)

Kaitlyn Weber, LSW (she/her)

Kait holds a Master of Social Work from Widener University and is currently working toward full licensure as a clinical social worker. She is Level 1 trained in Animal Assisted Play Therapy. Kait takes a strengths-based approach to therapy, drawing on Motivational Interviewing, Narrative Therapy, Walk and Talk, and LGBTQ affirming practice. She works with adolescents, adults, and groups dealing with trauma, depression, anxiety, and addiction. Kait sees therapy as a team effort: you bring the goals, she brings the tools, and her therapy dog Adora brings the kind of unconditional positive regard that makes the whole thing feel a little more possible.

Anthony Johnson, MS (he/him)

Shannon Colgan, LPC (she/her)

Kaitlyn Weber, LSW (she/her)

AJ holds a Master of Science in Clinical and Counseling Psychology with a focus in trauma studies from Chestnut Hill College, where he also earned his Bachelor of Science in Human Services. He has spent his career working with children, adolescents, and adults, with a particular passion for serving the LGBTQ community. AJ takes a client-centered approach, which means he will meet you exactly where you are. For clients who are curious, sessions can take place in the bunny room, where Beck and Adler are available by request. They are, by all accounts, excellent listeners. Meg Handley, BA (she/her)

Annalisa Smithson, LPC, NCC, BICBT-CC (she/her)

Annalisa Smithson, LPC, NCC, BICBT-CC (she/her)

Meg is pursuing her Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Penn West University and is building her clinical foundation at Unleashed while completing her training. She is often the first voice you will hear when you reach out to the practice, and she takes that role seriously. Meg believes that how someone is welcomed matters, and she brings real warmth and care to every first conversation. She is passionate about mental health counseling as a meaningful way to make a difference and is eager to begin working directly with adults and adolescents as her training advances.
