Community Health Spotlight – Salfid Rescue Inc.
For this month’s Community Health Spotlight, we’d like to introduce you to our friends at Salfid Rescue Inc. in Souderton, PA. We appreciate all of our local organizations and businesses, but this one sits near and dear to our hearts. Without Salfid, we wouldn’t have our beloved Benji to bring a smile to our faces at the office every day!
Salfid Rescue Inc. was started back in 2005, with the cooperation of Debra Curley, the owner of Salfid Kennels at the time, due to the overwhelming demand for puppy rescue transports. With the help of her dedicated team, Salfid Rescue was able to achieve non-profit status in November of 2008.
Since then, Salfid’s volunteers have worked tirelessly to rescue between 200 and 300 dogs from overpopulated shelters each year. They are committed to saving all dogs, and do not discriminate against the breed or age of the dogs they rescue. After a dog is rescued, Salfid provides wellness exams, vaccinations, preventative care, and much more. They are then moved into a foster home, where they are loved and cared for until their furever family comes along to adopt them!
Salfid Rescue Inc. is a privately run rescue and relies solely on donations from the community to do this amazing work. Please consider fostering a rescued pup, or donating the smallest amount you can manage, so this organization can continue to save the lives of our furry friends.
