    The Importance of Respecting Pronouns

In English society, when speaking of another human in the third person we frequently use pronouns that may have an implied gender. However, these associations can be inaccurate. Making an assumption about one’s gender can send a potentially harmful message, being that people have to fulfill a certain image in order to demonstrate as a particular gender. Using someone’s correct personal pronouns (she/her, he/him, they/them, etc) is a way to show respect and encourage an inclusive environment. Read more about the importance of respecting personal pronouns and learn how to use them properly.
